Wonder Woman for Kings & Queens

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Starting September, I will be the advice columnist for King Magazine Online. I will be giving advice to men and women, answering life questions, and dishing dirt.

Just to share, the name of the column- Wonder Women- derived from a private joke between me and the editor of King, Datwon Thomas. While in attendance at a King Magazine party last year, he spotted my burgundy knee length boots (I must admit these boots are a favorite of mine)… (Petit Peton in the village, you can’t go wrong)… but anyway, when he saw them he commented on how he appreciated the hotness of my footwear. :) and said how they looked like Wonder Woman boots. Since that day he has referred to me as Wonder Woman. Hence, the title of my advice column. When he suggested I title the column Wonder Woman, it took only seconds to agree that it was a fitting and fun name for it.
So watch out for Wonder Woman this fall.
My new book, Playthang will be in stores this fall, a release party to be announced. You can catch my blogs and articles for G Unit and Fresh 102.7. I will be touring the East coast with a few stops in the West. My advice column for King Magazine will be debuted. (Lastly I will be completing my last year of law school).
So look out… Thanks for all the support
Signing off,
Janine A. Morris a.k.a Wonder Woman

If you have any questions, feel free to submit them.   Otherwise, check out the column daily for new content and new advice.  You never know someone else’s issue may be yours tomorrow.

Taking Black Love To A Different Level

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Its a beautiful thing.  Fatman Scoop and wife Shanda are starring in their own talk show on love, life and relationships.  This couple that has been married for 5 years has found an interesting way to make it work.  They came up with an idea, started it on line and now have their own MTV show, becoming a new black power couple.

The show is witty, funny, and educational… its just what our people need right now, an outlet to try to figure this crazy thing called love out.  It deals with sex, dating, cheating, experimenting, marriage, etc.  Its a show you dont want to miss.  You can catch it on MTV starting in September.

Check back soon for an up close and personal interview with the lovely couple…

In the meantime leave a comment and let me know what do you think the biggest issue with black love is.

New York Goes To Hollywood

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

As if we believe all this reality television, the new show New York goes to Hollywood is expected to be another hit television show.  Don’t get me wrong, when it comes to reality TV Miss New York is surely the ‘it’ girl and I will admit she is one of my favorite reality leading ladies.  I just liked her spunk since day one, of course she is extra and way over the top, but she is interesting to watch. I wouldnt be mad if she dropped her breast job down a couple of sizes though.  Her past television appearances have brought her an abundance of success, with I Love New York 1 & 2 breaking records in reality television.  Her new show however is all about her, with no 12 men to share the camera time with so let’s hope she can keep us entertained this time around.

The show is documenting her journey to fulfill her goal of becoming an actress, so the cameras will follow her as she tries to take Hollywood by storm.  Rumor has it that George “Tailor Made” Weisgerber has broken up with her since the reunion of I Love New York 2 and the heartbreaking moment will be a highlight on the upcoming show.  We can almost assure her mother will be a co-star on this show as well, and all the small nuances of life will be brought to a dramatic level for the cameras.  It seems kind of scary when you analyze what’s going on with our culture, but she has become popular enough to where America just wants to watch her go through her daily life. Tiffany “New York” Pollard has come along way from home Toto.

Fresh “Princess of Bel-Air”

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Will Smith has done it again!  Hancock was a huge success with a $66 million dollars opening weekend, not including the $41.3 million earned between the debut on Tuesday and the weekend.  This is Will’s 5th movie released on the 4th of July weekend, the total of $107.3 million was Will Smith’s best opening.   Congrats Mr. Smith.

“Thought he told you that he won’t stop.”

But while I’m on the topic of Will Smith, I just wanted to take this time to acknowledge how fine this young black man is.

He is in my opinion under the definition of perfection.

He is fine as all possibilities, he’s tall, has a great body and smart and funny.  Another awesome thing about this man, he has never compromised his character.  He has always held himself in a positive light, never let the hip hop game persuade him and he has never acted like a baboon on camera.  He has been a positive role model throughout his career and that says a lot in this day and age.  In addition to all that- he is absolutely fine!

Is Jada lucky or what?     I had a crush on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air since I was like 8 years old; I mean any junior high friend can tell you I used to say I was the Princess of Bel-Air.  Of course I outgrew that crush, but I have still adored this man for all his talents and great looks ever since.  So again- I was just taking the minute to show homage to the greatness known as Will Smith.

(Sorry fellas who didn’t want to hear that)
