What a game!!! No one can deny the Celtics deserved this trophy, they not only won the series- they kicked the Lakers buttocks. For Boston fans it was a beautiful sight to see, and of course for the Lakers fans it was depressing. Every sports commentator with a microphone made a point to mention how they considered Kobe Bryant the best player in the world or some similar comment, but that sentiments didn’t add up with the sight of him walking off the court with tear filled eyes. Regardless of who you were rooting for this series, you can’t discredit the talent displayed by Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen these past couple of weeks.
If you haven’t already heard about the recent visit 50 cent had with the icon Nelson Mandela, you probably will shortly. The irony of 50 cent who has been viewed as a violent thug and Nelson Mandela known for his fight for peace is an interesting one. The true irony is a man of 50 cents background is not much different than Mandela’s; both men had to struggle through the strains that society has put on them as black men. By no means am I giving Curtis Jackson the credit that Nelson Mandela deserves for his struggles and strength, but I am noting the similarities that many black men in this world share. Apparently 50 Cent was extremely touched by his visit with Mandela and was very impressed with his spirit. Although Mandela was only vaguely aware of who 50 Cent was and his notoriety in the United States, he agreed to meet with him. 50 along with Yayo and Banks also took a tour of Africa and stood inside Mandela’s small and shabby prison cell that he remained in for 27 years. The experience seems like one that one can only imagine, but look out for a first hand look when MTV airs the documented visit this month on a MTV special.
Not that the rumors are confirmed, but word has it that Lil Wayne has a lot going on these days. Although he has been rumored to be engaged to the lovely Lauren London, it has been reported that he recently checked into rehab for his substance addictions. London has been linked with Pharell and T.I in the past, but the couple has been said to have had an open relationship prior to their new found commitment after the engagement ring was placed on London’s finger. Well if the rumor is true, we can only hope that Lauren London’s ‘new-new’ love can give Weezy the strength he needs to kick his alleged dangerous drug habits.
Lastly, why is the world praying that the rumored relationship between Chris Brown and Rihanna is true? They definitely do make an adorable couple, but why has this become such a big deal overnight. Why? Because with the Jayonce craze dying down now that there is an almost confirmed marriage, the public needs another couple to become fascinated with. If Rihanna and Chris can hold down their privacy as well as Jay and Beyonce did, they too can have photos sold to tabloids for up to 10,000$.
